Kickdown cable 700 1990

Is the "click" from the transmission?... the throttle spool will also make a "click" that you can confuse it with.

If you can still hear that click, then you need to adjust the nuts so that the little crimp on the wire "moves" further away from the threaded tube with the nuts until you can't hear the "click" any more.

If there's not enough adjustment left in the cable, you might be due for a new one.
