Power Seat Trouble 900 1993

1993 945 NA
What is the failure rate of the FWD/AFT motor in comparison to the cables? The driver's seat was stuck in the fwd position. One side was binding. I was able to get it to move, however it will move a short distance & stop. Speaking with a Technician, he feels that replacing the cables only would be the sensible thing to do due to the cost of the motor. I have read that the cables are a problem, but does the motor have plastic gears that can slip? thanks for any help. Brad
