I don't know what the difference is, but is it that much colder in Canada where you are than it is here in Michigan, or Maine, the Dakota's, etc.
In other words I don't think (besides the metric indication of speedometer and odometer, and maybe some other small quirky things,) that there is much difference between US, Europe, or Canadian market cars.
Of course the lads on the islands in Europe have the steering wheel on the "wrong" side (LOL), but they are still mechanically the same cars.
I would not worry, they seem to drive fine in Northern Sweden.
