93 940 Turbo - Brief Starting Problem 900

Guys-
Two weeks ago, I started the engine on my 93 940T, it turned over, then died. It did this three times in a row. The fourth time, I gave it a little juice right after I started it, and after about 5 or so seconds of rough idle, it was fine. In fact, I haven't had any trouble since, and have done tons of driving. Does this sound like a relay, something going bad, etc.? Should I be concerned? Also, on an unrelated (or possibly related) note, my fuel pump is the original I was told. Should I go ahead and replace it, even though it seems to be fine at 168K? I certainly don't want to be stranded anywhere, but I'm also on a very tight budget. Thanks for any advice, -Scott in STL
