1990 760 with ECC Intermittent blower motor failure. 700 1990

Original problem -- flashing A/C light and no blower function; obtained the 2-3-3 code, so I replaced the blower motor with an aftermarket unit. Now the sytem gives an intermittent major code (light flashes continuously and no system function). At other times it operates without problem. I can sometimes get it operational by turning the ignition key off, then back on. I replaced the ignition switch and this had no effect on the problem. When the system works and with a flashlight shining on the speaker sensor, I get 1-6-1 code only. I took the ECC control panel out of the dash to check for bad solder joints, but with the double decker circuit board and short ribbons, I had no success. Any help in troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.
