Heater Core Help! 700

I just took my car for a drive. I am staying up in northwestern WI and so i had the heat on. Well i started to smell that strong sweet smell of coolant. Sure enough, my heater core is leaking. As of now, I have the carpet and mat pulled out and layed a towel on the floorboard. I plan on replacing it soon, however i need to drive about 200 miles to madison this weekend and want to termporarily bypass the core.

I know what i have to do, my question is, what kind of elbow should i use to connect the hoses that go to the heater core? Also, what size, i believe it is 1/2 inch diameter (is this correct)?

Any help is greatly appreciated, i need to stop the leaking!!!!

brant
