93 240 automatic - 80 mph in 2nd gear? 200

Just put an "A" cam on my car few hundred miles ago. I thought I would see how it ran, since I heard it raises the redline and provides for more horsepower/torque.
So I put it in second and floored it. Well it ran well and pulled harder than before. I am sorry I never did some 0-60 times before and after, cause it feels more powerful. Well, the speed kept climbing and finally started to sputter around 80 mph (130 KPH). I was pretty surprised, since my manual says to shift around 45 out of second. Not that I will do this again, but does this deem right? Sadly, it is auto-tragic.

I think my kick-down cable needs to be tighten up, so I will shift later. Also I am getting better gas mileage, still low but up from 24mpg.
