Valve body swap 200 1993

My transmission is running better after all the flushing lately but the shifting is still a problem. Kick-down cable has nothing to do with it, it's been checked by me and a long-time Volvo mechanic down the road.

I'm considering swapping the transmission valve body with a spare 240 currently sitting in the yard. Has anyone done this before? Will the valve bodies be identical?

I've read the FAQ section on the valve body rebuild and there's no way I'm ready to undertake that, nor do I have the time to do it - this is my daily driver, it never has more than a day of downtime. But a swap - that might be managable.

I guess my question is, can I do this, swap entire valve bodies between two trannies, without new gaskets, seals, etc.? Without the possibility of losing a million little parts? Is this advisable?

Thanks guys,
Sean
