88 745 wagon. Clogged breather/Flametrap. Access? 700

I have the classic symptoms of a clogged breather box/flametrap. blown cam seal (just replaced) oil shooting out of the filler cap (new, since the cam seal is good)These breather box/flametrap parts need cleaning, lines checked, and so on.

Right now I'm having a hard time finding the thing as I peer into that general area, let alone removing and cleaning it. I know it is down there....two 13 mm bolts, a black plastic housing, some rubber hoses.

I guess I'm intimidated by the complexity that this particular area presents. Has someone done this recently on a non-turbo 230f that can tell me if I should take off the manifold, or any other pointers for this particular engine? It is an 88 year engine, which I gather from reading here is good.
