wet spark plugs 700 1988

I was doing some research on the board last night about moist plugs and possible causes. I saw that the thermostat plays a roll in the process with air fuel mixture and was wondering where on the guage the needle is supposed to ride.

I have an 88 745 gle 8valve na and the needle stays around 5/8th of guage ... more then halyway.

i have a 85 as well and that guage hovered around 1/3 when warmed up.

which should it be?

Also what is the guage above the temp guage in the 88 ( goes 0-5) oil pressure?

it's always buried above 5 and i'm hoping that that is good thing. wasn't in my manual.

thanks

Mark
