Leaking gas tank on 164 140-160

I purchased a 1975 164 yesterday. I noted alot of little things to be taken care of. For some reason when I looked under the car I failed to notice the leak on the underside of the gas tank. There looks to be a plug or something on the bottom of the tank, it is leaking by there (one drip at a time). Is this a common problem? Have any of you tackled this? Any help or suggestions are welcome!
