All things considered... all the stock Volvo components are generally good for as much power as can be pulled out of a B18/B20... the only disadvantages might be bad fuel mileage, the need for high octane... and yea. If driven hard, some thing will wear out faster.

Generally though, a properly 'built' engine just adds to the fun...
