VDO electrical speedo for a 240? 200 1982

Hey all. I want to put a vdo electrical speedometer in place of my cable driven speedo in the instrument cluster. I was planning on e-gauges for parts. I have never done this before and was wondering which sender to use and where to place it. My brick has the m-46 tranny, with cable driven speedo. Any thoughts on this?
