1984 240 gl fuel pump relay & ECU question 200 1984

I have the following problem. Car starts fine, but when i come to a stop it seems that the car wants to stall out and then picks up again. I'm looking at the wiring diagram and it seems that as soon as you put the key to the "ON" position (not start) the main fuel pump relay should energize and I should hear the fuel pump, but I don't. I've read a few forums saying that they replaced a transistor in the ECU that provides the ground for the relay. I havn't check for a ground on the plug (pin 17 on ECU yet). First question is "do I have my facts right"? and second, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ECU circuit board?

Or is this a different problem?

Thanks
