Clutch/tranny basics 120-130

Been a long time gone, but I'm back now! I have an issue which is probably bone simple in its solution, but right now I can't see the forest for all the trees.
It's my '68 22o with a J type OD. It's pretty much a DD, so when this glitch first appeared, I ignored it for a week or so. Problem: started being hard to get into gear, or it would be in gear and be hard to get into neutral. Then it would be OK for a day or. (That's why it was easy to ignore, my bad). Yesterday, it just wouldn't come out of third. I made it into the driveway, and here I am! My first suspect is a collapsed T/O bearing.
What I've done so far (w/ engine off);
1. rear wheels in the air=both turn freely
2 checked hydraulic fluid in clutch M/cyl= I use DOT 5, and it seems to be all
there. No visible leaks in master or slave. Pos. hidden leak?
3. checked slave travel, and clutch fork freeplay= both seemed to be correct.
4. Adjusted pushrod out beyond normal position just to see if it made a
difference= No go, still stuck in 3rd gear.
5. looked at driveshaft for movement= O/D flange and shaft rotate normally.
6. resisted applying stubborn, brute force (so far,...)

What I'd like to do is have the car move (under its own steam) to where I can remove the engine and/or the tranny . I've suspected it needs a T/O bearing for a while now,(very faint growly noise the last few months), plus a new rear seal, and O/D service couldn't hurt. I did what I'm supposed to do, and went through the BB archives, but didn't find anything which matched my symptoms. I'm also fully prepared to accept an answer that is so painfully obvious, that I can only slap my forehead,..! Thanks all.
