OEM at Term to be Trusted, Nope! Lucid was dead on. 200 1986

So tommorw on my day off to enjoy the fall weather have a motor mount to change out. Installed a $6.50 Auto Zone this summer and it has already failed. This time the temps will be in the high 70's instead of upper 90's.

Read the BB before you buy stuff is my new mantra. The was maybe something in there about death to the troll.

In a previous post Lucid warned that OEM did not really mean OEM when it came to my inpending mount purchase.

Got down to the Eurohouse they brought out the OEM $15 Mount. Came in the really nice box with OEM blah blah on the outside. Inside the box was a part that was marked clearly Made in India and asian letters on the side. That looked like a part I had seen before and asked to see the $6.50 part they carry the same one. It is the exact same part with the same markings. One is in a bag and the other one gets you a good cardboard box with OEM on the outside for the extra $9 bucks. Even the counter guy said that looked like the same part.

So I now have the $26 buck Meyle, made in Germany Engine Mount.

Read the BB before you buy stuff, and a tip of the Hat to Lucid for his timely warning!

Regards,

PT
