Dashboard swap 1800 1800

The previous owner of my 67 removed the vinyl/foam covering off the upper and lower dash, stripping them down to bare metal. I've had it covered with cloth dash pads for years. The vinyl dashcap shells that are sold won't work since the original dash material is removed. My 69 parts car has an acceptable dash and the configuration of the gauges is the same as the 67. What is involved in removing an entire dash? I assume the first move is to remove the front windshield and steering wheel, but what's next?
