Overdrive fix - spring tension in relay 700 1989

Hi all

I thought I'd share the success I have had with fixing an intermittent OD problem.

Before shelling out some (little) cash for a new OD relay, I dismantled the relay to have a look inside to see if broken solder was at fault, a la the FAQ.

The little circuit board looked fine with good solder joints, so I thought I'd bend the tab holding one end of the relay spring to increase the tension of the spring to see if the problem could be solved that way.

I also sprayed some Deoxit to clean the switch contact areas.

Well, the OD is seemingly good as new. No more intermittent OD light flashing, and the OD button on the autoshift lever works in a consistent manner.

All good!
