Shocks and struts for the DYI S90-V90 1999

Hi,
You certainly can do this job. As a newby it will take you half a day, but you will save on labor and also become more educated about your car.
I purchased spring compressors from Sears, they are of excellent quality. Take your time compressing and releasing the spring tension - this is where people get into trouble.
Let me make one suggestion about choice of struts/shocks - do not buy Volvo brand, for two reasons: one, they are Buick cushy, and two, they are stamped Monroe, made in Spain. I am stuck with these Volvo struts and shocks for a while and really do dislike them. Go with Monroes (which are made to a better damping specifications) or Bilsteins.
Best wishes,
John
