No Start - New fuel pumps & relay...What next?!? 700 1985

Hi Esme,

I have the Volvo wiring for the 89 740 here, maybe It's similar
enough to help you.
Fuse 11 is for the Tank Fuel pump Fuel pump.
The main fuel pump under the driver is fed by the Fuel Injection relay
which in the 740 is in the fuseblock/relay unit under the radio
it is just in front of the red cylindrical bulb out sensor.
This relay is famous for failing. If you have no voltage at Fuse 11
then the "FI" relay is the nr 1 culprit. Try smacking it with the handle of a screwdriver. I dont know if you can pop the cover and attempt a repair...either resolder bad connections or file the points.

Also check the Radio Interference relay Which in the 740 is in the engine
compartment by the right post.

Both of these relays have to be right to get fuel.

If you intend to service your car, start collecting service info.
There's a lot of it on Brickboard and elsewhere on the web.

What island?

Good luck, Bill
