POWER STEERING FLUID 700 1992

A question for those with more experience than I. I have a 1992 745 turbo, with 265,437K. I am having some trouble with the power steering. I have read through the FAQ and have decided that the first thing I need to try is to flush the old gunky fluid out. Which fluid do I use? The manual states ATF type F. Much of the FAQ referes to Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. The mobil 1 package says it does not cover type F specifications. Can this product be used with out doing harm to the system? I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in the engine, and it is still going strong. I would prefer to use synthetic, but do not want to make the situation worse. I am experiencing what was refered to in the FAQ as "morning sickness". Lack of steering power, and lots of moaning from the pump, particularly when it is very cold. It goes away (so far) after the engine warmes up. Thanks for the advice. Mark
