K-Jet (CIS) rough idle 140-160 1974

Hi, all
My question is, do all of these CIS mechanical injection systems run just a little rough--perhaps because it's adding a steady supply of fuel at idle?

I have:
"tan" colored sparkplugs
new points/condensor/rotor/cap/wires/59 dwell
10 BTDC
vacuum leaks ruled out (I'm fairly certain, but you never know with those)
runs and accelerators fine!
No major complaints, really.

Except I can't get a nice even idle with this K-Jet system!

It bugs me a little, especially at night, because my headlights and dash lights flare up and down with the change in alternator (rpm) speed.

I'm driving the green bugger a lot now that I've put the M41/OD in and I just wish it would mellow down to a sweet idle!
