Recently replaced all the rotors/calipers/pads/etc on our 1990 245, as part of the never-ending project. No ABS. Having trouble getting a solid pedal with the Motive bleeder... probably (in part) because I hadn't unpressurized the bleeder right. Maybe I need to bench bleed the MC? Also need to double check that the rebuilt caliper halves are reassembled right.
In any case, I noticed a discrepancy between the Volvo greenbook and Bentley on the bleed sequence. Bentley takes approach to bleed the individual brake circuits, rear caliper first for each circuit, then the fronts.
Volvo, on the other hand, says with the car on stands, rear end higher than the front, bleed all three nipples simultaneously on each front caliper first, then do the rears. The same order is in a "mystery" set of instructions... which may be Mitchell.. though this is probably regurgitating the Volvo instructions.
I know that Bentley WORKS, just found it interesting that the Volvo method is so different. Any thoughts? :-)
