6000 miles, 20 states in 12 travel days 200 1986

Well, we made it home this afternoon after spending the last 6 days enroute from Tacoma, WA. THe 86 245 did well, except for the previously noted small repairs and an ECU problem that cropped up in Oregon. It did not shut us down and did not warrant unloading the car to get at the spare. My GPS registered 2683 miles for the return trip + another 100 before I turned it on. We had a little over 3000 on the first leg.

I have some great pictures of our brick looking at Mt St Helens and of one in the rear view (I think an 83 245) towing a trailer in Utah. That one did not make it as I saw them after a fuel stop on an exit broken down with a pickup truck full of cowbays assisting.

All in all, this is a great big beautiful country that is certainly worth seeing even with the ridiculous gas prices (the highest were Washington and Oregon, both socialist strongholds; go figure), and we are looking forward to doing it again in the near future.

I promise to have the trip pics up on another site by Sunday.

Regards,
