Pressure in steering reservoir S90-V90 1998

One day I noticed that power steering reservoir in my '98 V90 hissed as I opened the cap ( after a short run) and it relieved a lot of pressure. I have never seen this happen in my '91 740 . I looked the cap over and could not find a vent . Is this normal or do I have a defective cap and how should that cap function ? The steering rack will be replaced in the near future because of strong leak from the left side and I don´t want to ruin the new one !
