Replacing Engine Harness any thing to watch for? 200 1985

I bought a new replacement engine harness for my 1985 245 GL. I have not had any issues with the wiring on mine yet, but according to everything I read here on the BrickBoard, I probably will have some problems. This car has always been garage kept, and has only 111,000 miles on the odometer.

Are there any special precautions other than disconnecting the battery and making sure that I do not leave any dead shorts, that I need to be aware of when performing this job? Approximately how many hours should it require. From the appearence of the picture of the new harness, it will run from the ECM all the way around the engine compartment terminating at the coil, and servicing everything in between. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.

Bill
