help with 960 RPM sensor, few other ? 900

Got a few questions here for more experienced 960 owners than I. I have had for the past 2 months my MIL on, with code 1-3-1, which is for the RPM sensor, or as the green book says, the Timing Pickup. Is this the sensor bolted onto the back of the passenger side cam, or is it on the crank?

Also, where is the amp for the stereo, my CR-814 is cooked and it is time to put in an aftermarket stereo.

As well, I do not see an oil cooler on my driver, but when I took the radiator out of my parts car, there was a volvo oil cooler bolted onto the bottom of the radiator. Any huge benefit to having this, and should I retrofit it to my driver that I use almost purely for highway driving.
