I think he means got rid of the existing oil pressure sending unit, which is an "on/off" switch, with one that you would use if your car had an oil pressure gauge, which delivers a signal all the way from full off, to full on, and varies the signal as such. This is to check the amount of oil pressure, not just is it high enough (light off) or too low (light on), as comes stock.
