It sounds like you have jammed the torque convertor or the input shaft of the manual trans and locked the engine up while installing it. There is little that will lock up the engine otherwise unless you got a lot of water into the cylinders. The thing to know is did it turn well before being attached to the bellhousing and not afterwards?
