1985 240 just won't quit 200 1985

Hi folks. I have a problem with a 1985 240 Wagon I just bought. The engine starts and runs just fine, but in order to kill the motor, you must unplug the big 25 amp fuse underhood on the left fender. Turning the key switch to the off/kill position has no effect. It just keeps running. I'm just looking for some educated clues to start tracking down. One thing that would help me a great deal is to know what are all of the functions that get juice off of that fuse? I'm also thinking it may just be the ignition switch. The car has 150k on it, so the switch may be interjecting gremlins. Anyway, I'd appreciate any opinions as to what I should logically be checking, before I just start replacing parts and crossing my fingers. Thank you very much for your time.
