Addressing the Exhaust Issue 444-544

The stock fuel injected exhaust is as good as any aftermarket header you can find, plus it's made of cast iron at the top, where it gets really hot. Headers usually burn through there, but I've never had a problem with my stock exhaust.

Now, the setup I'm talking about is the stock headers that are four-into-two, then two-into-one. You can cut the pipes off hust before they join into one past pipe and hook up dual exhausts if you like. Remember, the less the number of cylinders exhausting through a pipe, the louder it tends to be!

The Volvo PV uses both a muffler (under the passengers' front seat area) and a resonator (behind the rear bumper). You can remove the muffler and get a better exhaust flow - and sound - by just using the resonator.

Enjoy!
