Seat belt fastener wont click 700 1990

We have a family member who is particularly hard on cars that reports that her seat belt fastener no longer works. The Belt doesn't click into it and fasten. She has already worn a hole in the red button on the fastener, so it might be red plastic that's jamming it. There are some 740's and 760's in the local junkyard with good fasteners and I was wondering if those fasteners were compatible with those found on a 1990 normally aspirated 740 sedan? I don't have her car to look at, but the fastener on my '88 760 appears to be held in with just one large bolt. Is it the same on the 740? Would a 760 fastener work in a 740? What years of 740/760 share the same design as a 1990?
