Brake lights quit working 200

My wife took our 1992 245 in for a free oil change and a strange thing happened. The Service light in the dash has illuminated for a couple of years because we could never seem to put it out.

When the car came back from the garage, the light was out but now the 3 brake lights (each side and tailgate) do not work now. I checked the fuse and tried new bulbs but still no worky. A local Volvo mechanic said it could be a brake light switch. Do you know anything about this or have a different opinion? Is the brake switch hard to replace if it is indeed the problem?

Thanks in advance!
