Choke linkage mechanism leak 140-160 1969

Happy Thanksgiving all.

I discovered a very slight leak of gas coming from the mechanism where the choke cable connects to the Stromberg on my '69 164 automatic. I checked the fitting screw and it's as tight as it can get. I think the mechanism is just worn and wobbily. It's not a very bad leak so I think I'm catching it in time. The question is what can I do about it? I tried putting a small rubber gasket in the fitting and that stopped the leak but gave me less choke cable. The result was the car wouldn't start. Bad idea.
Is there a replacement source for these mechanisms? If I get a used replacement it could be worse. Hey, George did you ever have this problem?
Thanks.
