valve clearance on 1971 B20E 1971

George,

I got that .017" figure from this page:

The only B20 they show at .021" is the B series. The same holds true for the B18B. All B30 engines are shown as .021".

At first I thought the difference must be the height from the deck to the rocker axis. The B20E is the highest CR red block configuration at 10.5:1. But looking at various CR configurations for the B18/20/30, I see no correlation between CR and valve clearance specs. Maybe it is a difference in the height of the cam lobes?
