I'd agree. I had an '83 245 that would wouldn't start or run in the rain. Give her a day or two to dry out and she ran fine. Turned out to be a bad distributor cap that was letting just enough water in to short out the spark from the coil wire. A new cap (and starter since I was young, stupid(er) and persistent then) and she fired right up.
