96 960 tranny doesn't work @ all!!! Got several questions, any help would be appreciated 900 1996

I'm told these transmissions are of the highest quality and are also used by Lexus. So, it's unusual for them to fail this hard. Check to see if you have a leak in the transmission cooler located inside the radiator; This might account for the high brown fluid level and possible badly worn transmission clutches; the coolant can eat them up. This has been reported on this site before. As I remember, the trial fix was to change out the radiator and flush the transmission with fresh fluid. The guy got lucky and it worked.

If that's not the problem, start by checking the codes.
