Dear Bricksters,

I am referring to a 1995 940 with a B230FD, Bosch LH 2.4, EZK 2.4 Ignition. I have replaced the flywheel sensor, the power stage and coil, cleaned the throttle body and the EGR valve and replaced the engine temperature sensor as well as giving it new wires, distributer cap, rotor,air filter. I did all of this over the past year as needed and each time it served to solve which ever problem I was dealing with at the time. The car runs fine and I am grateful for that but being a fussy guy as far as Volvos are concerned I ask your input on this problem: Throughout all of the above there has always been an occasional shudder in the idle when stopped at a light with my foot on the brake and the car in drive. If I slip the car into neutral with my foot on the brake it does not do this. It idles smoothly. I therefore have ruled out a vacuum leak at the brake booster or any other vacuum leak for that matter. I suspect it is the holding back of the foward motion by the brake that is the determining factor here. Does the solution lie in the transmission? Is it electrical? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
