Erratic idle only when brake-pedal depressed... 200 1975

Hi all,

from the little time I have had to research the subject, I haven't found a definite explanation for my following idle problem:

- on my 1975 Volvo 245, the idle is generally fine and stable. When I apply the brake pedal and keep it depressed, the idle becomes very erratic, though.

Can someone help me pinpoint exactly what I should fix/replace to cure the problem: whole booster, one-way valve or...?

I do have a used replacement booster on hand if needed.
