Dead Volvo 900 1993

On Sunday Dec 2 this car cut off while I was entering a parking lot. I waited for about 10 minutes and it started. Last night, I was on my way to the grocery store and it died on me. It has sat for a whole night and will not restart. The battery is a little down from cranking too many times. I tried to jump start it and it sounded like something had broken on the inside - like only two cylinders are trying to start the car. Up to this point, I have never had problems with the car starting except when the fuel pump died. I replace the intank fuel pump with a used one from a 1995 960 about four months ago. I made sure it is not the fuel pump this time. What should I look for? There is fuel in the rail. The mechanics around this area are not knowledgeable on Volvos. Please help!!!
