K10042 speedometer reads too fast 200 1989

I had another post on this question but a little twist here. If I understand correctly:
1. the pickup unit from the rear axle either works or it doesn't.
2. manual transmissions have a different gear ratio/pickup unit therefore a speedometer from one doesn't work correctly in the other
3. in 240s of the '89 vintage, autos have clocks and manuals have tachometers.

Is the above true?
