Main Fuel Pump whinnig noise. 900 1994

Hi all,
1994, 940 Turbo sedan with 184K has an issue that the main fuel pump whinning noise is getting bad to worse. I had replaced fuel pump with filter from my other 1991 940SE with no change, while the one from 94 on to 91 car works fine. I also replaced FPR but to no avail. The in tank pump works fine as it pumps fuel to the main and also I can hear the noise through fuel filler hole. What else I should check. There is a backvalve on 1994 and it is not on 1991. Could it be the culprit. Please advise.
Thanks
Ram
