rear caliper pins 700

1991 740 b230f sedan

just replaced my rear brake pads, and my thanks to those who prepared the FAQ, which described very well how to do it...

purchased, with the oem pads, a hardware kit which included 4 replacement caliper pins from FCP Groton. Everything went well - except for the caliper pins. The old ones were recessed flush to the caliper surface(on the inside side)...the new pins, no matter how hard I hit them with my flat punch, will not go fully into the recess - they stick out about 1/8 of an inch. The tapered pin does extend out on the outside of the caliper.

Is this a problem? or is it ok that they stick out a bit?

thanks
