86 ac compressor squealing. 200

My belts sounded loud so I tested with spraying some water to see if any of them would queit. I used a plastic hose to find the source and the ac compressor area sounded the worst. I tightened what appeared to be loose belts on the ac and ps. I still have the sound and I'm 99% sure its the compressor. Do I have to worry about it siezing up? Is there a source for the real deal on by passing the compressor? Thanks.
