Wipers quit working, Full red Amp light! 120-130 1966

On my way to work this evening, as I pulled into the parking lot at work, the wipers on my 122 froze mid wipe and the red AMP light came on full! (The car still has a generator, so it glows some times, but it's never been full red while the car is running!)

I pulled into the parking lot and popped the hood. My first thought was a fuse. I checked the fuse box, and all the fuses looked okay. I spun the fuses and it seems that all has returned to normal.

A couple of questions:

Is this related to the fuse box or was it a happy coincidence? And that leads me to my second question,

Which fuses do what and what is each fuse suppose to be rated for? (I'm pretty new to the world of the 122, and this is something I should probably know.)
