Not always.... I can't seem to find the character map on my XP machine. When I have found it though... it is rather limited.

A quick google search for 'extended ascii code' will bring up most of the common ones. But, I've never found a complete list.

For instance, I've never found either of the two special symbols in my signature on any list of ascii codes... I found them just by being bored and going through numbers...
