turn signal housing 444-544

VP-Autoparts started offering them last year, and I bought one. Although it was very nicely made, it turned out not to fit. The screw holes for the turn signal switch were too close to the steering column, making it impossible for the turn signal to work correctly. I tried to modify both the turn signal cancellation mechanism and the tripping collar that goes around the steering shaft, but still couldn't get the thing to work. Of course, I managed to ruin both in the process. I returned the housing to VP-Autoparts. They refunded my payment, but gave me a bit of a mixed message about the part: they conceded that the dimensions were off, but also claimed that others had installed the housing without running into any problems. So, before you buy, ask them if the problem has been corrected.
