Bad IAC 900 1992

Greetings friends,

I have a '92 940GL 8-Valve Regina FI 195,000mi. and am getting OBD codes:
2-2-3 Signal missing to/from idle valve IAC Idle air control valve
2-3-3 Idle valve closed IAC Idle air control valve

Poor idle when warm, have to touch the pedal at stop signs to boost rpm. Otherwise runs ok maybe a tad sluggish, rich mixture suspected.

Now, I'm not really dumb, but it would seem that the IAC is bad :) Since there are only two leads (12v-checked with voltmeter) and IAC cycles on power testing-seems to be working, could this really be a defective ECU?

Any hints on how to tell? This is a fairly expensive part, and I would rather not have to replace both if I don't need to. Any thoughts are welcome.

Happy holidays,
gerbear
