Odd noise by water pump/timing cover 900

Dear mmal231294,

May this find you well. When was the water pump last changed? Was the timing belt changed at 100K? If so, you're about 12K from the change point. If the tensioner is the original - hard to believe, but I suppose possible - you might want to do the timing belt and tensioner now. These are not super-costly items. While a timinng belt or tensioner failure won't damage the engine, the car will stop right there. Thus, this repair will be done at a time/place of your choice, or a time/place not of your choice.

See the Site FAQs, for guidance on doing these jobs.

Best wishes for Happy Holidays, and a Good, Healthy New Year.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
