Crash video on 940 versus mini car , Volvo loses big time! 900

The Youtube video showing the crash test between a 940 wagon and a small 3 year old Renault is real food for thought. The Volvo comes off really badly despite being larger and heavier.

The 940s are essentially early 80s technology from a chassis point of view, and technology has moved on significantly since then. I primarily drive a 940 as it is safe and affordable, but have been aware for sometime that the old 940 is now well behind in the safety stakes. This video has convinced me that it is time to upgrade to more modern technology, so as soon as I can scrape together the money I'll be looking for a 2003+ V70 wagon. You only get one chance in a serious accident and I want the odds stacked in favour of myself and my family as much as possible.
